Kalki Krishnamurthy's 1995 Magnum opus "PONNIYIN SELVAN" is now going to be the most-awaited and blockbuster movie in this cinema industry.
Its first part is going to hit the silver screen on September 30 worldwide in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada!. It has more than 30 prominent characters, a multi-starer movie where famous actors are placed perfectly for each apt role.
What makes us happier than the presence of our lady superstar "Trisha Krishnan", it was a goosebump moment when we saw her in the teaser with a revenge smile, it drives us more toward the movie and enhances our excitement.

At the trailer launch, Trisha appeared in a beautiful red saree, with a choker neckpiece and perfect earrings. Our Angel was ravishing in a traditional outfit, it was a visual treat for the audience. She was like a modern Kanduvai character.
At a launch ceremony that was held in Chennai on Friday, July 8, Actors Karthi, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Trisha, Vikram Prabhu, Sarath Kumar, and Jayam Ravi, filmmaker Mani Ratnam, music composer AR Rahman, cinematographer Mani Ratnam, and writer Jeyamohan, who has penned the dialogues, among others were present on the occasion.
Trisha added that she was very happy to be part of Mani Ratnam's multi-starer historical portrait, and also to play the role of " Kundavai " a Chola princess, in two periods of drama. What makes us even more interesting is knowing how the filmmaker has portrayed each character beautifully since each one has our interpretations. We could see many famous actors playing many roles in the teaser. Extending her gratitude to director Mani Ratnam, actor Trisha said, “This is the first time we are all (the cast) seeing the teaser. I am speechless. Be it a newcomer, or an established actor, acting in a Mani Ratnam movie is a dream come true for them. I am so thankful that I got to play Kundavai in his magnum opus.”
She added, “Mani sir made his first pan-Indian film with Roja. At the moment, if we look at pan-Indian films, audiences across the country are admiring south Indian movies, and we’ve been giving them blockbusters. Ponniyin Selvan is one such film that needs to be viewed by audiences across the country. We, as a team, are proud to present Ponniyin Selvan as a pan-Indian film.”
Sharing the post on Twitter, Trisha said, “In a world of men, a woman of courage. Presenting Princess Kundavai. PS1 releasing in theatres on September 30 in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada,” tagging Mani Ratnam and music director AR Rahman. Also shared her video and the movie teaser.
According to reports, Ponniyin Selvan took three years to finish. The first part is going to release in five languages. A.R. Rahman composed the music for this film. Ravi Varman has handled the cinematography. It is bankrolled by Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions.
The first part of magnum opus Ponniyin Selvan will star Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha Krishnan, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prakash Raj, Sharath Kumar, Parthiban, Lal, Prabhu, Aishwarya Lekshmi, and others. Aishwarya Rai as Nandini, the Queen of Pazhuvoor. Vikram as crown prince Aditya Karikalan, the elder brother of Trisha Krishnan's character, and Karthi as Vanithiathevan, a commander in the Chola army.
